Hearts of palm carbonara pasta
One pound spaghetti, cooked and drained
Two cans of heart of palm
Red pepper flakes
One cup of red bell pepper
One tsp minced garlic
Two cups chopped bacon
One cup chopped basil
Cream cheese, butter or parmesan cheese (Optional)
Slice your hearts of palm into strips, then wash and boil it into hot water for about 5 minutes.
In a separate pan, combine the oil, peppers, basil, pepper flakes, garlic, and bacon. Saute until pepper is tender.
Mix thoroughly all the ingredients in your pan (hearts of palm, peppers, bacon, oil, etc.).
Keep the pot on low and add in your egg. Mix again and let the egg cook.
For more creaminess, add in some full fat cream cheese, butter, ghee, or sour cream.
Top your pasta with red pepper flakes or parmesan cheese if desired.
