GUAVA BBQ SAUCE WITH KETCHUP

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped white onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 120 ml of water
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 80 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup sauce
  • 1 teaspoon powdered ginger or 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 250 ml of Guava Jungle pulp
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  • In a medium pot over medium heat, add the oil and sauté the chopped onion and garlic for a minute. Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot, except the salt and pepper.
  • Mix and let everything boil. Then reduce heat to low and let cook for about 20 minutes or until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let cool and serve.
  • The sauce can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to a week.
